Singapore Employment Rate / Statistics in 2007

The results are out! In 2007, Singapore’s robust economy has generated 236,600 jobs and this has broken its own record set in 2006 where 176,000 hirings were documented. These Singapore jobs are created across all key industries with services, manufacturing and construction sectors taking the lead.

While locals rejoice, the foreigners are the biggest beneficiary as their employment shot to an all time record with 144,500 new Singapore jobs for foreigners. As of December 2007, 33 percent of 2.73 million people employed in Singapore are from overseas and these foreign workers amount to 900,800.
