Philippines has one of the most active business process outsourcing industry in Asia, which provides general call center services to specialised work such as animation, web & software development, legal, medical and shared services.
According to the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP), the local off-shoring and outsourcing (O&O) industry of the Philippines has employed about 320,000 workers in 2007.
Most probably the 2nd largest provider of global outsourcing of services after India, the Philippines is now working towards growing its outsourcing workforce to 920,000 by 2010.
If this 2010 industry road map proceeds smoothly, outsourcing in Philippines shall generate an additional 600,000 Philippines jobs from 2008 to 2010.
