If the interviewers are satisfied with your performance during the second interview, it may result in either a job offer or an opportunity to proceed to the next round of interview. Both outcomes are positive but you have to be mindful of WHAT TO DO or rather how to react in both situations.
Offered a Job on the Spot
If you are fortunate enough, your second interview may result in a job offer. But remember that you are not required to take up the position immediately and never get pressured into accepting the job on the spot. If you need some time to assess this opportunity, let your interviewer know and fix a date to respond with your decision.
Since you are face to face with the relevant people who are recruiting you, it may be the best time to work out a salary package and work benefits that both parties can agree on.
Five or More Interviews
It may be rare occurrence but some companies require 5 or more rounds of interviews during their recruitment process. If you are a candidate of such a company which repeatedly ask you back for another interview without a offering you a position, it is appropriate to provide a friendly notice to your interviewer that you need to reach a decision by a specific date, or pull out from the process.
This sort of request is generally not very reckless and may help to accelerate the hiring process.
